Worth the Climb

Sorry for another photo post but this one was too gorgeous to pass.

Some of the fam and I drove up Whiteface Veterans’ Memorial Highway, which is… A highway that goes up Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks. Once we got to the base of the summit, we had a choice – climb up 1/5 of a mile or take a tunnel carved into the mountain. Despite my lack of athleticism, I chose to climb. I thought it was just steps. But no. It was steps and rocky terrain. It was harder than I thought and I am so out of shape that I felt almost sick by the time I reached the top.

But it was so worth it.

This wasn’t actually at the top yet. I stopped during the climb up to take this shot… And to catch my breath.

Photos will be posted soon of the entire trip including breathtaking views from high peaks!

Oh yeah… I took the elevator down.

Wow! That’s quite a view. Just remember, you’re not out of shape, it’s the lack of oxygen! lol
