books, blabberings, and a life semi-common
Tonight, my father decided to treat me, my mom, my sister, and her husband out to dinner. He said it was for Valentine’s Day which I thought was pretty cute of him. We decided to go Imperial 46 which is a dual restaurant of Japanese/Chinese on one side and a Hibachi place on the other. We decided to go for the regular restaurant. We all ordered Japanese food and it was great. I was happy with my meal.
Then I ordered dessert. I’ve had it before so I knew it would be delicious. I ordered the tempura banana which is basically a banana with tempura batter that’s fried and served with vanilla ice cream. It came and I just stared at it. The banana looked good. The ice cream had a drizzle of chocolate over it. There were two maraschino cherries.
And there was lettuce and a grape tomato.
Yes, but really.
It really baffled all of us. I mean… Why was there a salad? It was a few courses too late, don’t you think?
Either way, the dessert was great and I ignored the grape tomato, though BiL2 wanted to put it on the toothpick to see if someone would eat it as though it were a cherry. Hehe.
We were also given fortune cookies – chocolate ones, even! Everyone read their fortunes and they all made sense even if some were gimmicky and cheesy. I mean, that’s fine. Who really takes fortunes seriously?
Then I opened mine.
That’s not even a fortune! It’s not even a good piece of advice!
Fail, chocolate fortune cookie.
