Let the Award Watching Begin!

I don’t often watch award shows. Most of the time, I find them boring. This wasn’t always the case. I used to be a religious award show watcher. I’m talking all of them, from the Golden Globes and the Oscars to the MTV shows, from the Grammys to the Teen Choice Awards. As the years passed, I stopped watching them and stuck with two – the Golden Globes and the Oscars.

This, of course, came to mind because the Golden Globes are on tonight. I really do love seeing who wins what. I’m not a very good moviegoer but every now and then, I attempt to watch a few select films. With the Golden Globes, at least I watch some television shows. It works for me, I suppose.

But something else I love about awards shows are the fashions and dresses and looks of everyone who’s present. I really do love seeing the dresses. I love commenting on them. I love seeing who wins and comparing whether or not I agree. I like listening to the speeches and love to laugh when they get cut off because they feel the need to thank everyone who’s ever been in their lives.

More than that… As my Twitter feed tonight will attest… I love watching for the actors I love. Tonight belongs to Robert Pattinson and Natalie Portman, not even gonna lie.

So which award shows do you watch or do you not watch any? And why do you choose to watch them or not watch them?

    Rob in a suit… *poof*

Whoever chose Ricky Gervais to host the ceremony was brilliant. Bloody brilliant. Bloody. Brilliant.
